The Bangladesh Education and Resource Network (bEARN) is a national level non for profit organization. bEARN is also a member center of the International Education and Resource Network (iEARN), the largest, most experienced online K-12 network in the world. bEARn enables young people to engage in collaborative, multicultural educational projects, focusing on issues of global importance. It helps young people to acquire critical thinking skills, cross-cultural awareness and experience in working with new technologies. bEARN encourages participants to think of themselves as global citizens, and to learn that they can make a difference, in their communities and worldwide, by collaborating with their peers around the globe. On a national level, bEARN is developing a youth network as a peak resource, research and support body on young people’s issues in Bangladesh. The youth network provides resources, support, training and development opportunities to young people and local youth organizations. The network is coordinated by young people, for young people. It aims to build the capacity of young people and community youth organizations to be involved in local development projects and to advocate for youth related issues, with a focus on Human Rights and achieving the Millennium Development Goals.
Bangladesh Education and Resource Network (bEARN) in collaboration with its partners is committed to work with umbrella organizations, academic bodies, universities, non-government organizations and government institutions to establish a global community of concerned organizations and citizens with the express purpose of supporting the youth of the world in developing and implementing educational and humanitarian projects, especially projects of change and healing for the health and welfare of the planet.
Objectives :
1. Share and transfer telecommunications technology, teaching methods and other resources with youth organizations, schools or individuals and NGOs to strengthen universal peace, to identify and take active part in resolving global problems facing the world.
2. To develop and maintain high quality educational innovations and establish training and support programs.
3. To facilitate identification and sharing different but complementary experiences of educational, academic and other national organizations with enduring educational infrastructures and tradition throughout the world.
4. To share high quality educational and other resources available in individual member centers of iEARN and to participate in global infrastructure for a conceptual and action based educational network.
5. Promotes and organizes voluntary service activities in cooperation with local communities as well as other local, national and international organizations.
6. Develop friendly relations among youth of all nations based on respect for the principle of equal rights and self-determination of peoples.
7. Promote and encourage respect for fundamental human rights for all without making any distinction to race, sex, language, culture or religion.
